1. What Starboard Is

Starboard (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a software-as-a-service platform that helps businesses collect, manage, and display customer testimonials on their websites. These terms govern your use of the Starboard platform at getstarboard.io.

2. Account Registration

To use Starboard, you must create an account. By registering, you agree that:

• You are at least 18 years old.
• The information you provide is accurate, complete, and current.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Plans and Billing

Starboard offers Free, Pro, and Team plans. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through our payment processor, LemonSqueezy.

• Free plan: Limited features, no credit card required.
• Paid plans: Billed at the start of each billing cycle. Prices are listed on our pricing page.
• Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time. Your paid features remain active until the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds: We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. To avoid being charged, cancel before your next billing cycle begins.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Starboard to:

• Submit, collect, or display content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, or infringes on the rights of others.
• Send spam or unsolicited messages through our platform.
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from Starboard.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, other users' accounts, or data.
• Use the platform in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our service.

5. Intellectual Property

Your content: You own the testimonials and content you collect and manage through Starboard. We do not claim ownership of your data.

Our platform: Starboard, including its design, code, features, and branding, is our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of our platform without permission.

6. Testimonial Content

As the account owner, you are responsible for the testimonials displayed on your website through Starboard widgets. This includes:

• Ensuring you have the right to display testimonials publicly.
• Reviewing and approving testimonials before they appear on your site.
• Respecting the privacy preferences chosen by testimonial respondents (full name, initials, or anonymous).

7. Service Availability

We strive to keep Starboard available and reliable, but we do not guarantee any specific uptime or service level. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience outages from time to time. We are not liable for any losses caused by temporary unavailability of the service.

8. Account Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in behavior that harms other users or the platform. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action, except in cases of severe violations.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at kirill@getstarboard.io. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Starboard is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of revenue, data, or business opportunities.

Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via the email address associated with your account. Continued use of Starboard after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Starboard operates. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
